AUTORICKSHAWS – A number of times we have informed you parents that many of your children reach school after the assembly and loiter on the road side for over an hour after dismissal. This is happening with students who are commuting by autorickshaws. Many of these autorickshaws are making two or more trips and that makes them late to drop and pickup the students. They are reckless and rash while driving and over loaded. Therefore, the school does not support or recommend autorickshaws for children to commute. Use bus facilities which is dependable and safe from rash driving by other vehicles. Contact the existing bus service providers in the vicinity for this purpose.

DBA/Cir. No:3/ 2017-18 DATE: 20.09.2017
Dear Parents/Guardian,
URGENT
The safety and security of children in our school from the time they enter the school campus till they leave the campus at dismissal is our prime concern and importance. Therefore we request you to carefully read the following and comply with our requests.
- Transportation: We have recently had a meeting with the D.M., the S.S.P as well as the D.S.P Patna and other officers of the Patna District Administration on 14.9.2017 in connection with safety measures to be taken regarding our students as well as the mode of transportation of students from their homes to the school and back. You must remember that this is a precautionary measure taken by the Patna District Administration for the security and safety of your children. There are certain requirements that have to be fulfilled by you, parents/guardians in this connection:-
- You are requested to provide the school the details of the transport used by your ward/s as mentioned in the Performa attached.
- Furthermore we request you parents/guardians to give an authorization letter to the school permitting your children to come to school using cycles or on foot.
iii. Private Vehicles/Auto-Rickshaws :- Many of you have made arrangements for your wards to commute to school and back in private buses, vans and auto-rickshaws, etc., We have been observing that these modes of conveyance, especially auto-rickshaws are overloading their vehicles which are a danger in itself.
- These transporters do not stop their vehicles close to the School gate either to drop the children or to pick them up after the dismissal but they park their vehicles far away from the school compelling the children to walk on the road from their vehicle to the school and back to their vehicles after dismissal. It would be advisable for the transport drivers to line up their children and lead them to the gate of the school. The same method should be followed at dismissal. Please instruct the concerned Transporters that the students have to be on time for the Morning Assembly every day.
- These transporters are not punctual and prompt in picking the children up from school after dismissal. Some of these vehicles ply one or more trips and hence some of the students do not stay in the campus to wait for the second or third trip but they leave the campus and loiter on the roadside. This is not desirable as it leads to discipline problems, security and safety risks and hindrance to other vehicles plying on the road or to accidents as well.
Parents are requested, time and again, by the school authorities, as per letter Ref: 2277 dated 05/04/13 from SSP Patna regarding safety of children, which has not been taken seriously so far, hence please coordinate with your transporters to ensure that your children are on their way home not later than 15 minutes after dismissal, and advise, or request your children to wait in the campus till their conveyance arrives.
- We request you parents to give us the names of your ward/s who return home using the second or third trip so that we can keep your children in the campus till their transport/conveyance arrives.
- Identity Cards : All children have identity cards which they must wear at all times to and from school.
In addition from now, it is mandatory for Parents/Guardians, to submit one family photograph (size: Passport – i.e.: Father+Mother+Ward) to the school in order to issue you an Identity Card. This will enable you easy access to enter the school premises to meet your ward, visit the office or pay his/her fees or to meet the principal or teacher in connection with your wards.
III. The Entry and Exit Register: This Register is available with the guard at the main gate. Visitors/Parents must fill in the requirement in the Register before they enter the campus of the school and even when leaving the campus. This has been made compulsory for the safety and security of the children in the school.
- All bus/van/auto drivers must have identity cards and /or authorization letters from parents/guardians to pick up children from the school campus. They should come into the campus showing the I.Cards at the gate and then line up the students showing their authorization cards and then take their students to the vans, autos, bus etc. trip wise.
- Teachers on duty: Parents /Guardians, please note that our teachers are on duty every morning before classes commence. Teachers are deputed in front of the main gate to help students enter the school and cross the road carefully. The same procedure is followed during dismissal and they move around the campus, to observe, watch and take care of all the children waiting for their respective conveyance or transport. The teachers on duty remain here till all the children have left the campus.
All parents/guardians are requested to familiarize themselves with the safety rules as well as student/teacher/parent responsibilities as given in the school diary pages 26 to 30.
